Quarterbacks
Derek Carr: 75 overall / Spencer Rattler: 67 overall / Jake Haener: 63 overall
Derek Carr of course is the highest rated QB on the New Orleans Saints roster, while rookie Spencer Rattler edges out Jake Haener for second best. Carr’s best attributes are his throw power rating at 91 and short throw accuracy at 88. His throw accuracy mid and throw accuracy short drop off a bit at 82, while his speed is a decent 83. Rattler has a good 90 throw power rating and 82 throw accuracy short rating but is in the 70s in all other throwing attributes. He will be a good prospect for players playing franchise mode, but Carr is clearly the better player in the game right now. Carr is the 22nd highest rated QB in the game, right behind 76 overalls Russell Wilson and Caleb Williams and ahead of 74 overalls Anthony Richardson and Jayden Daniels.
Running Backs
Alvin Kamara: 85 overall / Jamaal Williams: 76 overall / Kendre Miller: 72 overall / James Robinson: 71 overall
Kamara checks in this year with 88 speed and 92 acceleration, while being in the high 80s in break tackle, trucking, change of direction, juke move, and spin move. His receiving attributes are of course also very good, with 76 catching and 81 short routes running. His speed leaves something to be desired, but his acceleration makes up for it and he is one of the best all-around RBs in the game. Williams also has 88 speeds but only 88 acceleration while having 85 trucking and 81 break tackle. Kendre Miller is the fastest RB on the team with 90 speed, while James Robinson is the 3rd running back on the team with 88 speed and also has 88 trucking. Kamara is the 14th highest rated RB in the game, behind 86 overalls Tony Pollard and Raheem Mostert and ahead of 84 overalls Breece Hall and Jahmyr Gibbs.
Wide Receivers
Chris Olave: 86 overall / Rashid Shaheed: 79 overall / Cedrick Wilson, Jr.: 74 overall / A.T. Perry: 71 overall / Bub Means: 69 overall
The Saints have good speed with their top 2 WRs, with Olave having 93 speed and Shaheed having 96 speed. Olave has 92 catching and mid to high 80s in all the route running attributes, with 88 deep route running being the highest. Shaheed has a solid 85 catching, but his short and mid route running are in the 70s while he has an 83 deep route running. Olave is the 22nd highest rated WR in the game, behind 87 overalls Jaylen Waddle and Mike Williams and ahead of 85 overalls Chris Godwin and Christian Kirk.
Tight Ends
Juwan Johnson: 77 overall / Taysom Hill: 75 overall / Foster Moreau: 72 overall
The one thing the Saints tight ends have going for them is speed. Taysom Hill clocks in at 90 speed, which is second in the game only to Kyle Pitts, while Juwan Johnson has 88 speed which is tied for 8th with players like Evan Engram and George Kittle. Johnson has good catching attributes, with 84 catching, 86 spectacular catch, and 83 catch in traffic, but his route running stats are not great, with a 72 short route running being his highest. Taysom Hill is usually at least a 60+ overall player no matter what position you put him at, as he has higher than a 52 rating in 49 of the 53 measured attributes. As a TE, Hill has 81 catching and 77 catch in traffic, but all his route running attributes are below a 67. As a runner Hill has 82 break tackle, 86 trucking, 84 stiff arm, 78 spin move and 85 juke move. As a QB he has 84 throw power, 81 throw accuracy short, and 74 mid and deep throw accuracy. Hill is fun to use because you can make him fit to your style of play. If you’re like me and need a mobile QB he is the 5th fastest QB in the game, and the only one with 90+ speed and 80+ trucking. Or you can use him and Johnson in what would be the fastest 2 TE set in the game if you prefer to have speed from that position. Johnson is the 23rd highest rated TE in the game, behind 78 overalls Brock Bowers and Jonnu Smith, and ahead of 76 overalls Tyler Conklin and Zach Ertz.
Offensive Line
Ryan Ramczyk: 87 overall / Erik McCoy: 86 overall / Taliese Fuaga: 77 overall / Cesar Ruiz: 74 overall / Trevor Penning: 71 overall / Lucas Patrick: 68 overall / Nick Saldiveri: 67 overall
The two longest standing members of the Saints offensive line are predictably the two highest rated, as RT Ryan Ramczyk and C Erik McCoy are both among the best at their positions in the game. Rookie Taliese Fuaga debuts with an impressive 77 overall rating, with 84 run blocking, 76 pass blocking, 89 impact blocking and 93 strength. Penning is the 37th highest rated LT in the game, while Ruiz is the 21st highest rated RG. The biggest hole is at LG, as unless you play Penning or Fuaga out of position you will have someone lower than a 70 overall at that position. Ramczyk has better than 85 overall in all but two blocking attributes, but his injury troubles this offseason are reflected in a 79 injury rating, which is second to last among RTs. Still, he is the 4th highest rated RT in the game, while McCoy is also the 4th highest rated player at his position in the game.
What do you think of the Saints player ratings on offense in the new Madden video game? Which players do you feel were rated either too low or too high?
